From "The Chosen One" to ‘’The King’’ proclamation, the step was short. The nickname inspired by King James of England identifies the strongest NBA player and for this reason it has become popular on a large scale only in the last few years, when LeBron began to take on his "kingdom". Selected with the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers and named NBA Rookie of the Year in 2004. In his career he has won the NBA title four times out of ten finals played (two with the Miami Heat, one with the Cleveland Cavaliers and one with the Los Angeles Lakers), four times the NBA Finals Most Valuable Player and four times the NBA Most Valuable Player.
He is the third NBA top scorer in the regular season as of 2020, as well as the second in the Finals after Jerry West. In the playoffs he holds various records including points scored, steals and defensive rebounds.
With the US national team he participated in three Olympics, winning the bronze medal at the 2004 Athens Games and the gold medal in Beijing 2008 and London 2012.
Maybe that's why we now hear many people arguing about who really is the best NBA player in history.
